Rossetti Trombone
Where can I get a good (but cheap) Baritone or Alto Horn?
Hi, I have a very (VERY) limited budget but want to get a new instrument, I’ve played trumpet, trombone and tuba, but now I want to get a baritone, but I am also up for a alto horn if I could get one of them for cheaper. I’m not that up with instrument knowledge so I really don’t know what the difference is between the two, so forgive me if they are actually the same thing since they look the same to me at least…
Anyway, so I checked on ebay and found 2 brands, Selman (no, not Selmer, it is indeed called Selman) and Rossetti, but I was looking around and didn’t see positive reactions to them, well I saw a couple for Selman but other negatives.
Are they okay to use? The price is good for me, well better for the Selman since it is under $200, not as good but acceptable is the Rossetti for under $300.
So, if they are not good instruments and not reccommended, then could someone give me a link to where I can get an actual good baritone/alto horn for cheap? Thanks.
Selman is not a good brand/manufacturer. If you look to the left column on eBay while searching the musical instruments you will find the reviews of people with experience warning buyers of the unknown brands and their lack of quality as well as the brands that are reliable and worth the money.
A Baritone is similar to a Euphonium but they are still different instruments. The Alto Horn, pitched in E♭ has a conical bore (gradually widening), is similar to the Baritone and Euphonium in that it is an upright horn.

I’m not familiar with Rossetti.
Right now there are several baritones available on eBay for a reasonable price. But if you’re not very knowledgeable of the horns and you have a limited budget you might want to speak with a teacher or more experienced musician for guidance.
