DEN Jazz an sich gibt es wahrscheinlich so nicht, sondern es existieren viele Arten, Epochen und Stile von Jazz so dass jede Epoche ihre eigene Geschichte hat. Diese Hauptseminararbeit m chte die Geschichte und den Stil des New Orleans Jazz, des Dixieland Jazz und des Chicago Jazz erz hlen. Zwar haben diese drei Stile, die etwa in die selbe Zeitspanne fallen, so viele individuelle Merkmale, dass f r jeden eine eigene Hauptseminararbeit n tig w re, aber sie verbindet auch viel mehr als nur die gleiche zeitliche ra. In der Fachliteratur wird zum Teil sogar die Diskussion gef hrt, ob der Dixieland Jazz und der Chicago Jazz berhaupt eigene Stile sind und nicht nur eine Nachahmung des New Orleans Jazz. Diese Arbeit kann diese jahrelange Streitfrage zwar nicht l sen trotzdem wird hier jeder Stil mit einem eigenen Kapitel behandelt.
