where can find cross reference material specification of fittings, flanges, unions and cast and forged valves?
to distinguish if it is carbon steel,304/316 stainless steel, monel, etc..
example is “A105″ is a carbon steel for forging and “A182-F316″ is a standard stainless steel.
These specifications are all from the ASTM/ANSI/ASME standards. These standards address material content, dimensions, allowable stress or allowable pressure, testing requirements, labeling, etc.
The primary source for the information contained in these standards are the ASTM, ANSI, and ASME organizations. They sell these standards to provide income so they can maintain and up grade the standards as experience and changes in technology warrant.
Each organization has its own website where you can purchase the standards.
They can also be found in technical libraries at some colleges and universities.
