Where can a 19yr old talk and learn about playing the blues harp in San Francisco.?

I’ve been playing the (diatonic) harp for nearly a year, its the one instrument I’ve ever bothered to pick up. I love it. I WILL master it… someday. What I need to know is how to get my foot into the door of the blues/blues harp community, meet some people who play the harp and blues.

I know a great teacher in NYC. How I found him was through an introductory class through the New School. So if you don’t get a more specific answer here, you might try a really good souce of adult education courses that has a wide range of music classes. I got a very swift introduction to blues harp and the great players that way.

If nothing of that sort turns up, there’s a source for music instruction videos run by Happy Traum, and there’s at least one instructional video, by Norton Buffalo. Just checked, and there are a lot. Here’s a link:
