can i change the tremolo bridge on my strat with a hardtail bridge from a telecaster?

i wondered how this would affect the way the strings sit in the saddles and if making new holes for the screws would mess up the sound.

it’s not a terribly exspensive guitar so i’m not real worried about ruining it’s value. all the same i thought i’d ask before i went out and bought a new bridge.

i know that one of my dad’s friends did almost exactly what you are talking about. And it worked out for him pretty good, I saw the thing in action and it seemed very reactive and tone-full, and he seemed pleased with it. But also he screwed up the guitar at first, and had to re-do alot of stuff to it. Im not sure what he did wrong, but hey, if you got the skillz, why not.
