What type of harmonica do i own?
It has 8 holes instead of saying 1 to 8 it says 2 to 9
its an ECHO M.Hohner…if that helps and its in the key of C
The Echo is a double holed harmonica that is suppose to give you sound of two harmonicas playing. You say there are 8 holes, but I suspect there are actually 16 (look again, the numbers are numbered 2 to nine but there most likey is two holes for each number). I do not know (and have not been able to find out) why it starts with 2 and not 1, but all the harmonicas of this style seem to be numbered that way. (Perhaps a harmonica specialist will give us more input in that matter). MORE: I’ve been researching it online, but haven’t found a specific explanation of why it starts with hole 2, though it may indicate that it down not start with the tonic note (the note of the key).
