What is the easiest way to remove mirrors that have been glued to the wall?
I’m renovating a house and there is a wall that has 12in.X12in. squares mirrors on it. I have tried knocking them out with a hammer. The mirrors are glued on really well so the hammer just shatters the mirror and stays put. I got a scraper and am trying to shatter the scrape it off. It’s just long and tedious. I wasn’t sure if there is an easier way to get it done! Please help me!!
If you haven’t busted up all of the mirrors yet, run a sheet of clear contact paper over them. Then take your hammer and break up the mirrow. The contact paper will allow you to pull the broken glass off neatly and easily. If there are still globs of dried glue use a palm sander starting with a coarse grit sandpaper. Re-sand using a finer grit sandpaper. That should do the trick.
